should i stay married to my voodoo priest husband? | |
i've been a chritian all my life that is all i know, my husband and i have 2girls and a baby on the way. to make a long story short, my husband told me that he is now a voodo priest, he went back home (haiti) and went through all process to become a voodoo priest. i hate anything that has to do with that life style, i am hurt, confuse, disapointed, and i feel traped because i do not my children around him, i do not want them to know what he does ever, i just want to raise them in the lord. when my husband and i met i was 14 and he was 18. 5 years later we got married and weve been together since. i knew he was an unbeliever but i never thought that he would go that far. i don't know what to do, i do not want to stay married to a husband who is doing the complete opposite of gods word. help

i suggest you fast & pray & bring this before god asking him to show you a sign as to what to do. his bringing idols & other related things can bring curses to your house & it can affect your family.
(i recommend you read, "unbroken curses", by dr. rebecca brown)
also, go to your pastor &/wise church leaders and ask them for advice. you might also want to call the 700 club christian counseling at 1-800-759-0700 for prayer. i do that when i need others to pray for me, too.
you need to do what's best for you & your daughters. if living w/him is endangering your family, you need to go where it's safe.

you shouldn't ban your children from seeing their father just because you don't like his religious choice.
if he is abusing you or your children, then you should leave.
i think you need to express your concerns with him.

god is more powerful than your voodoo priest husband, the bible does not say you can leave due to the reason you have stated, teach your children the word of god, try to convert your husband. pray and pray some more. you can't live in fear, true beleivers do not fear for god will provide. pray and ask god to show your children the way. you must have confidence in god through this time.
