As a Christian, single parent, I have never relocated to another state. But will be soon. Any advice? | |
Moving to Kentucky or Tennessee. Need advice on moving, safety, connecting with people, etc. I'm a Christian and don't know many people in the area and I want to connect as soon as possible. I love Yahoo Answers :-)
AMy son had an accident a little over a year ago. A few months prior I lost my job (restructure-ha!) with state and income started to plunge. Took cut in pay and med. insurance skyrocketed. In Jan. 06 new job was outsourced (Indiana). I work PT but have no insurance and disability denied my son (because of PT income). Waiting word from Shriners-praying they will do needed surgery on him. Meantime, my estranged father lives in Bowling Green and friends live in Louisville. Trying to reconnect with father. Main thing, cost of living is way better down south than in Indiana. I have a degree and a lot of skills and talent and believe God will open a door. My church here is so big and isn't real supportive-they will give you food and clothes if you need it but spiritual and moral support is not standard esp. with single parents unless looking to find a husband (I'm not-God is my husband). Indiana is not a very friendly or open state (lived here 39 years and it gets worse all of the time).

1Of great importance are your children. The school and church you find will make a big impact on them. You have the responsibility to take great care in training your children. Do some research and even visit the areas your thinking of. It is not an easy thing to do but you will find it most very important in the future. You want one day for your children to wake up and call you "blessed" Lots of work-great reward
