CHRISTIAN church question? | |
Is it ok to call the leader of the Christian church a "Pastor" ?
Also, who in Christian church helps those in need? Say who do the member of the church need to approach in the event of the financial hardship?
(this is for my research)
THANK YOU !!!****

1Hi
Don't mind the negative talk from some people who answered you...ignore them!
The word pastor comes from a Greek word "poimen" which simply means "SHERPHERD"...
God has appointed a pastor to "sherpherd" you spiritually and physically...Look at this verse where Paul and the apostles were organising food for widows:
Acts 6:3 "Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.(The duty is mentioned in verse 1 and 2)
Pastors may not be able to take care of all the needs of the members but they are suppose to organise it like Paul and the disciples did in the verse above.
Now for those in need, they are suppose to prove to be faithful in spiritual things because the bible tells that we must help everyone but, "especially those who are of the household of faith"Galatian 6:10.If a member does not want to serve Christ but wants handouts from the pastor, it would be unfair for those who are faithful needy ones serving in church for the pastor to take his money to him before attending to those faithful needy ones.So we need wisdom here!
Who to approach during financial need?
Well, the first one is God whom you believe in and trust...He said "silver is mine and gold is mine"
Secondly, the pastor.
